"My mosaics are a gathering place for all my wondering ideas and inspirations. Mosaics are all about contrast; what you like, what feels good, and what inspires you. It is a marvelous journey with endless possibilities. If for no other reason, I create mosaics simply for the joy it brings to me. "

Artist Statement

I have discovered that I have been on a mosaic journey all my life, collecting bits and pieces from travel, quilting, gardening, and interior design. I am amazed with the journey and the experiences that I could never have imagined because of my love for the art of mosaics.  I find I can never learn enough about mosaic art and all the materials to choose from.  My mosaics are all about color and texture. I believe adding color to one’s life adds energy and excitement.  Just working with all the fabulous materials that are available is extremely exciting to me.  Using different materials and the placement of the materials together to create a unique effect is a magical and intriguing process. I am continually amazed at the endless possibilities.

While I love all types of glass, I enjoy working with stone and pottery.  The inspiration for many of my mosaics comes from travel and nature.  A simple walk in the garden with my granddaughter is a magical experience and it is then I usually dream up my next mosaic.  Or, finding a unique treasure such as a metal or ceramic piece can be the start of a new mosaic journey.
